[Albion] Adam Lallana **Leaving Summer 2024**

Love watching him play. Fantastically quick feet, thinking one step ahead of those around him and ALWAYS scanning……watch his head, it’s incredible how he watches what is going on.

Propper used to do the same. I went to the 4 frustrating home before lockdown and live got to see how he, as you say, was always scanning and thinking ahead.

Lallana was an upgrade and subsequently they had less than 10 mins on the pitch together.

Lallana is still a superb player and I'd be very happy if we get another season out of him.

In a pretty turgid game which was a bit of a struggle to watch for most of the second half, Lallana’s cameo was a very welcome highlight!

The way he used the ball was outstanding and his shithousery and time wasting was just what we needed! He almost single handedly saw that game out for us and was much needed, we’d definitely lost control before he came on and it felt a matter of time before Forest scored.

God I wish he was 10 years younger!

On signing Lallana gave us something unique at PL level in CM or 10, his sole instinct before and on receiving the ball was to drive us forward with creativity. Never a backwards step. He’s a natural, allied to his years playing at the very highest level for club and country.

He wouldn't be playng for us!

It's a joy watching the bloke. That moment when he received the ball in midfield, and rather than pass it out wide he cut it back and forward to Baleba to launch another attack.

I appreciate what he brought to the club but he’s a high wage earner who hardly plays any minutes for us really, like many on here I wish he was 10 years younger but he’s not. I’m sure he would be a great asset as part of the back room staff

Pascal Gross may have something to day about that, but yes, him coming on was exactly what we needed to settle down the side

This is where I am as well.

He's outrageously talented, his first touch is extraordinary and his close control is a joy.

But in the box, I actually think he's very average. His shooting and finishing is poor for a player of his talent and final pass really quite inconsistent.

I get the logic of having a coaching succession plan, but we're paying a colossal salary for someone who may or may not turn out to be a good coach and is just as likely to go elsewhere to start coaching when he hangs up his boots. There's nothing compelling him to stay here. If we've given him offers, probably others have as well.

Our squad has too many players who can only really play an hour a week (Welbeck, Lamptey etc). Great player but I hope he is coaching for us next season and that we have a new legend in midfield, perhaps a friend of Pascal’s!

His record of goals and assists up to 2017 was outstanding, especially per appearance stats. Then forever injured, he lost all pace. His game since has been someone setting the tempo, ball retention and probing for openings.

Very much this. However, as people have pointed out his wages as a player are an expensive luxury for the minimal time he's on the pitch. If if still had any real degree of fitness he wouldn't be playing for us as his control is sublime.
