If we're looking to take a natural left-sided winger I'd take him over Downing.

(Having said that, he seems to play mainly on the right for City)

Yep, he should go. And Bent, Zamora, Lennon, Walcott, Milner, Young, Downing, Cahill, Dawson, King, Hart, Baines and a few dozen others. Let's take every English footballer playing in the Premier League. :) And make threads about them.

I forgot Defoe! Deffinitely take that guy.

if he goes it will be anouther walcott! needs to play international football before playing in a WC! wen the WC is over this will be my england team for the next 2 tournys!

Hart

Glen J or Richards
Dawson
JT (just to give that experience next to Dawson, but the blood Steven Taylor in)
A Cole (maybe bring Baines in in ashley starts shaggings the wives like JT)

A Johnson
Stevie G (C) (replaced by Milner after Euros)
Carrick or Barry
Lennon (or Walcott)

Wayne (C after Stevie leaves)
Calton Cole or Crouch (need a big man upfront)

Subs:
Foster
S.Taylor
Huddlestone
Wilshire
Agbonlahor (can never spell that lol)
Welbeck

With that team we will have plenty of youth that would have experience at the next WC after playing together for the next few years and would have loads of pace!

We need to get rid of all the gks at the mo for the next tourny and bring in Hart, Foster and Loach!
Get rid of Rio and Upson... i dont think i need an excuse!
Lampard is getting a bit old now and he wont be at the next WC anyway so may aswell replace him so he can do a scholes and concerntrate of Chelski!
And please no more Heskey, Cole can do the same but is more mobile and can score goals!!

Better than Lennon.....i think not.

Unfortunately the thing that will always hold Johnson back will be his lack of outright pace. His delivery is preety good i know.

You can work on Lennons delivery etc..but your cant get speed.

Sorry have I missed something?

Was he playing tonight?

Thought he was quality last night. He doesn't have pace but he has a footballing brain and is a like-for-like for Beckham or Bentley. I'd take him because he provides something different to Walcott or Lennon.

If we need a big man upfront to partner Rooney, then Connor Wickham at Ipswich has to have a shout for the next World Cup, 2014. I watched him against Newcastle and he was immense. Kept telling my mates that he was class, this is without realising he was only 17. I know Spurs are reportedly interested in him but i wouldn't go there if i was him as they already have Crouch as a target man.

thats a great shout aslong as he goes to one of the big teams in the prem and develops then he could definately be in with a shout of playing regularly for england alongside rooney
