To be honest I don’t know. They are doing a lot of work I hear but I’m not sure if it all comes up to standards for the conference

Indeed he can't, lets face it irrespective of League positions York City are a massive club, a sleeping giant some would say, with much of their existence being spent in the Football League.
Good luck to him l say, and if he does well he will be more easily noticed by even bigger clubs. I wonder if David Stockdale had anything to do with his appointment.

There is not a transfer window per se but the end of March is the cut off to register players.
If Worthing have players under contract, York would need to negotiate a fee with Worthing, which may be difficult given Worthing's league position.
If Worthing have non-contracted players, then York can make an approach with 7 days notice. However, they can only approach one player at at any one time and have to wait 28 days between approaches.
So I think it's unlikely there will be a mass exodus.

Timing is awful. Money has clearly spoken in this instance. York appear to have a pile of new money with the new Canadian investor, but this is still a risky and potentially sideways move, not to mention distance upheaval. It's quite possible Worthing and York could pass in opposite directions at the end of the season. I'm sure he could have done better in time and more local too. His football contacts are all in the south. Up north he'll be in uncharted water.
Despite the new investment, York are flirting with relegation plus on their third manager this season. One only has to look at the current state of Eastbourne Borough to realise an 'investor' with deep pockets but zero experience of the English game is fraught with risk. Financially its a win win for Hinshelwood however it turns out. Unlike Joe Public who screws up in his job and gets fired, a football manager on a long contract who fails is still on a financial winner. Aint that so Graham?....
The new interim team of Aaron Racine, Dean Hammond and Darren Budd are in place. Three smart appointments until at least the end of the season then review from there I would guess.

I suspect it would be borderline at best. They are developing the west end behind the goal at the moment. I think an issue is there won't be enough seating
might be a case of wedging in some Withdean style seating somewhere to make up the numbers
it's so hemmed in that they can only really expand so much. I don't even know if they're considering moving but I doubt there's a huge amount of viable sites in Worthing?

Bit of a downbeat assessment, although I can see where you are coming from.
You think it is all about money? Are you referring to the money and contract being offerered to Hinsh or the finances available to the club? Both maybe, however, money can mean greater opportunity .York, with their history, must surely offer a greater career opportunity to an ambitious man like Adam. Regardless of how well Worthing do, how ‘successful’ could they ever be being slap bang next the the Albion?
I reckon the opportunity offered to him at this stage of his managerial career is too good to turn down and it looks like he thinks so too. Not too sure an ambitious manager would be put off by relocating ‘up north’.
Good luck to him, I hope he does well. To be sure, he hasn’t got an easy task to keep York up this season.

The current work underway is specifically to be Conference National ready. I understand they can also manage football league requirements on the site (though it’s obviously not going to be easy).
My understanding was that the required seating was installed last season. The seats are a bit cosy now!

To say those of us who've been following Worthing home and away for a long time are gutted is an understatement. No question that Adam is the best manager we've ever had: building two promotion winning squads (set the foundations that Gary Elphick and Jon Meeney ran with to get us promoted from Isthmian South in 2016), a first Senior Cup win since 1999 and some of the most fun football I've had the pleasure of watching outside of Albion/RDZ.
We always knew it was when and not if the right opportunity came that he'd leave, and we were as shocked as everyone when we first saw the rumours on Monday night, that were quickly corroborated as true the following day. The timing, the location you name it, we shocked and heartbroken. While we're all still disappointed to be losing him, now the dust has settled and having seen/heard his farewell interview today with the club and introductory chat with BBC Yorkshire, it makes more sense.

Despite their perilous position fighting relegation from National, York is far from a sideways move from Worthing, as much as we'd like to kid ourselves into thinking that. A full-time former football league club getting 3-4 times our gate most weeks, with a modern stadium and an newish owner who is, by all accounts, very wealthy and wanting to invest in a manager he trusts for the long term project whatever division they are playing in next season. Even if we are playing at the same level or we swap places in National, the resources he'll have at his disposal will dwarf what his successor at Woodside will have in the summer.
In the Worthing interview, Hinsh mentions he got the call regarding York's interest after coaching one of the Academy sides on Sunday, and that in itself is part of the reason why he's made the move. Managing the Worthing first team was only part of his role here, and as he said to BBC York, he's felt ready for a while now to take the next step and manage a mens first team full time. He's more than earned that opportunity and goes with all of our blessings.
On top of being the best manager we've had, I'd be remiss not to mention what a stand up bloke he is. Having time for anyone and everyone, knew who the fans were that had been going week in, week out for years, popping down to the local Social Club after some games with his wife to spend more time just socialising with some of us after games. Like all the squad know, he always understood what a special atmosphere there is at this club and the fanbase, and I have no doubt he'll be true to his word and joining us in the Shed when he has the chance
Goes without saying as well, we couldn't have wished for a better interim situation. Aarran, Buddy and Dean all know what the squad is about having all either trained, played and/or coached under Hinsh, will try to keep the continuity in playing style and will absolutely have the backing of the fans no matter how the rest of the season goes. Despite our strong start to 2024, the last few games were a reminder of how strong all the sides competing for play-off spots are.

In terms of players moving to York in the short term, this is spot on. In the summer, anyones guess as to who Hinsh may look to bring in, but also depends on if its a player that: A. wants to make the jump from PT to FT football, and B. if they want to relocate to Yorkshire.
What's not always understood from some outside of Non-League bubble is that some players, however high a level they could play at given their talent, are quite happy and settled being part-time because of their other career or where they're based.
Correct. As we were challenging for the play-offs last season we had to get the ground up to a certain level of grading in the event we got promoted, and the necessary seats were squeezed into the main stand, along with the removal of the St Elmo's End shed and levelling out of the the terrace at that end for health and safety/capacity reasons. Not sure if there needs to be a few more turnstiles added too, but we've shown this season we can segregate games if needed to, so the ground is a good spot to be National League ready if we get promoted this season.
The long term goal has always been for the grass bank on the opposite touchline to be dug up and a new terrace/seating to be built there, but it's anyones guess as to when the club will start working on that project.

I don't think any will be going with him. It would mean relocating a huge distance as commuting on matchdays is not an option. If you are going to lose a manager, lose him to a team 250 miles away.
Good luck to him although it's cut the heart straight out of Worthing.

Has taken one of our academy coaches with him (who also worked with him at Worthing).
