As I understod it on TV, the government are going to appeal the decision to grant him bail and press for his extradition to Jordan by proving that Jordan will not obtain a confession by torture
He entered the country under false pretences so should be sent back to where he came from . !
He entered the country under false pretences so should be sent back to where he came from . What they do with him is their concern . Just becuase the ECHR says its wrong . Just ignore it and see what happens ... Nothing ! . Worst case scenario is that we are no longer deemed to abide by ECHR which would be a result .
I thought that was what they were trying to prove that it wasnt.
As ditchy says just kick him out as he shouldnt be here in the first place.
He came into the UK on a fake passport and then claimed asylum. Apart from being wanted by Jordan on terrorism charges it appears that Algeria , America , Belgium , France , Germany , Italy and Spain want a word with him too. Deporting him would mean a £12k fine for ignoring the ECHR , which equates to a WEEK of protecting him from vigilantes and the cost of surveillance.
Could that work after such a longtime in this country or would he be able to claim some form of residency right due to the length of time he has been here, legally or illegally.
I never said he hadn't, just that he hasn't been convicted of offences over there. Big difference between being suspected of committing offences and being convicted of doing so.
