I have an ongoing problem getting rid of wood. (snigger)
This primarily being 3"x 3" pine posts that were previously garage doors frames.
These generally are painted in the majority so not just untreated wood.
We struggle to get even rubbish clearance people to take them.

In this green recycling world is there any other option open to be able to recycle them rather than burning or landfill?
Seems such a good waste of natural wood.

Contact your local secondary school, most D.T departments will take any clean wood

Unfortunately its not all clean wood, its mostly painted and rotten normally from the bottom 6", thereafter the remaining 5-6' is good wood.
If it was all good the customer would not replace it :)

I'll speak to a colleague but I'm certain most schools would love to have them

I'm sure there is at least a couple of people on any set of allotments who would bite your arm off for them.
