So is it OK between the Uni and Lewes, for those of us lucky enough to not need to travel West?

For anyone in Mid Sussex thinking of cutting out the A23 to Hollingbury stretch of the A27 by nipping over Ditchling Beacon to Coldean Lane: the entire road is closed from Ditchling High Street this week.
Thanks for this update - there's a post below (#28) which seems to imply it's open today....

If they have any sense they will run the Mill Road buses a different route - maybe down through Withdean and up Carden Avenue.

The issues on A27 Eastbound are when the traffic from the A23 tries to join. However, I can also see the exit slip at Patcham being blocked as people won't be able to get onto the roundabout. As that part and the exit to Hollingbury always queue on a matchday, especially for evening kick offs, that is going to be a nightmare tonight. Westbound it has been the queues on the slip roads queuing back onto the A27 that has been causing delays.

11am backed upto Dyke Road junction, for the avoidance of any doubt, this is EASTBOUND ONLY.

For those parking at the Bridge/Uni it might be worth going via Carden Ave and Coldean Lane rather than A27 between Patcham and Hollingbury?

Coming from Worthing, it feels like a decision about where to get off the A27.

The best approach feels like getting off at Holmbush, taking the Old Shoreham Road all the way to London Road and then cutting up to Lewes Road.

Or is there something better?

I've just told the person I normally go with to head to race course p&r tonight (he normally parks at mine and comes to mill road). However, I'm still a 'walk up' to mill road p&r.

I wonder how much time I should leave tonight? I normally get to mill road 45 mins - 1 hr before kickoff ???

or come all the way along the coast to rottingdean and head north through woodingdean. Pass the Amex and join the A27 west bound to the bridge!

It’s that or the coast road to Marina, and come up through Woodingdean. Or along to Ovingdean and join the A27 westbound that way. Either way not fun.

Does sound like the route that is most likely not to get caught in local rush hour traffic.
