Road closed at the Pyecombe Texaco garage, the usual 45 min commute to Crawley is now going to take 2+hours.

Any one know is this planned works or what’s going on? Can’t see any signs whilst sitting in the traffic other than the road closed signs.

And the police have kindly set up a speed trap on the warninglid bridge to catch the people trying to make up a bit of time too. Currently filming northbound.

There seem to be frequent road closures due to fuel spillages after accidents. That would seem to suggest a problem with the design of fuel tanks. Is this something that should be looked at?

Fully electric trucks and cars will solve this through the passage of time :fishing:.

Aside from the fuel spilllage there’s also a hole on the A23, the police are looking into it.

I went via the way that Waze suggested, which was up to Pyecombe and then along New Way Lane to Hurstpierpoint and onto the A23 at Hickstead via Sayers Common. It added 10 mins onto my journey and was very scenic.

Well, I guess if it prevents another accident closing the road, they've done everyone a favour
