A warning for those driving tomorrow

Probably stating the blindingly obvious, but I reckon the M1 is going to be a bloody nightmare.

Four main reasons:

1. It's Bank Holiday weekend.

2. Roadworks on the M1.

3. The Leeds festival.

4. Trains are :censored: ed.

My advice, leave early. And take beers in the car.

Trains are ok as far as Yorkshire. The main works are north of Leeds.

Midland Mainline is fine no works (that have been announced)

M1 very busy today (already) so hopefully the rush will have died down.

Good advice setting off early anyway

The Tinsley Viaduct at the side of the Meadowhall shopping centre at junction 34 of the M1 is down to one lane southbound & loks set to stay that way all weekend. This will snarl you up going home.

If you can, head for the main A635 to Doncaster after the game, go down the A1(M) to the M18 & take that down to junction 32 of the M1. Shouldn't take too much extra time

Off to Reading Sunday. Not looking forward to the traffic on the roads. :(

But as I'm not driving I'm taking a stack of beer with me :)

Allow an extra 30 minutes due to emergency repairs to Tinsley viaduct at jun. 34 on the M1.
