I wasn't there yesterday but if true this Bridcutt pullback tactic sounds a bit of a new thing. I don't remember him getting as involved in attacking moves bar set pieces.

The plaudits may go to the frontman, but Bridcutt was trusted with the ball and absolutely ran the show. He produced some wonderful chipped passes, which split open the defence with great accuracy.

I do wish people would stop picking up on this. May bring some unwanted attention in January

We will not sell unless we get offered a very, very good fee so it's win win either way really. Players like him are so hard to find.

Indeed. He is too important to the way we play for us to let him go without good reason.

Summed up rather well.Bridcutt was supreme and Mom,dominated the midfield and with Dicker giving more than able support allowed both Lua Lua and Buckley to play as wingers and cause havoc every time we attacked.CMS as stated pulled the defence all over the pitch plus he scored a couple of tap ins of high quality.Living in the Yorkshire Dales about 45 mins away I went with another seagulls fan and 2 Burnley fans. After the game they were very complimentary about our performance and thought we were a good bet for promotion. One of them thought CMS was the dogs bollocks but the other couldn't believe how good Bridcutt was.Even more impressed when I told him he was a free transfer signing.
Strange how you see things, from the away end we thought that CMS had got his head to the 2nd goal and it was only after the game that our Burnley friends said it was an over head kick.Crowded goal mouth and angle of vision I guess.
Good times for the seagulls, yup you bet.

i'm sure most clubs have a more sofisticated method of scouting than trawling message boards and blogs. I'm sure Bridcutt is on a few clubs lists already.

Hopefully you are correct as, indeed, seems to have been the case with the reputed Narwich bid for CMS.

Hopefully we will 'never' ever again be subject to the circumstances we were when Benno was sold to Narwich at a knock down price !

Wow. That is as good a write up as you will see of a game. For those that were lucky enough to go to the game how did the new boy Orlandi do when he came on?

Fair enough from the radio and highlights. Whether it was when Crofts was taken off or Burnley stopped chasing players and covered space after the first 20 minutes or so I can't tell, but they then got a bit of a look in.

Charlie Austin runs in front of Gordon Greer caused trouble but there was no-one else in the Burnley team to take advantage or even pass the ball in front of him.

Ke ieran Trippier was over on the right sometimes to take free kicks and Albion resisted the temptation to fire the ball into the hole created and rush things. 4-4-2 gave Burnley an extra man in midfield and for a period after they got the lucky equaliser when we could even have lost it. Then Macca took over.

Stanilas's chance came to him at speed and although he made a hash of it, it was only a half chance. Except that Maccas second goal was only a quarter chance that came off. A better chance was Lualua's cross to the far post that Buckley nearly got on the end of.

Interesting substitution by Poyet, electing to bring on Buckley rather than Harley or Calderon when Crofts went off. We ended up playing two wingers (finally!!) for not far off an hour. For those who were at Turf Moor - Do you think that it worked? How did we look?

That really was an excellent write-up and shows that people shouldn't judge a club by a few idiots that support them. (I went to the game with a Burnley fan who was very complementary about us. Before the game we were saying how sad it is that friends who support different teams can't sit together at games comfortably because we'd both be embarrassed by a vocal minority of our fellow supporters)

An interesting point made about the passion Poyet has instilled. I have noticed that we tend to lose it for a bit when we concede whereas some teams pick up their game.

I think Buckley struggled because of a lack of games. It's good that he got 50 minutes under his belt.

That article and the whole site is superb. Really impressed. Wish we had something like that.

'Some called it arrogant and ratty, but there’s no doubt that Gus Poyet gets his team fired up and it’s infectious. Last year we caused them to boil over. This year Brighton contained themselves and dominated' Love it!
