[Albion] A thread of positive things about FH

I’ll start with


He is incredibly supportive of players who are out of form or make mistakes. Comments about Lewis being a great captain and how highly he rates Bart coming after his massive clanger against WHU being the most recent

I haven’t heard him throw a single player under the bus or moan once about injuries and make excuses for poor performances because of it.

That's a tough Friday morning question. I guess it's positive that much research into FH has taken place, but to be honest I can't think of many positives for Familial Hypercholesterolemia.

He appreciates his sleep coach isn’t a magician and the treatment won’t happen overnight.

He has never complained about injuries, not once. It's frankly remarkable and he's made clear that's a choice he's making.

I think it's a huge testament to him. Any other manager and it's all you'd hear about. Then that's all the media would talk about and it becomes the narrative. He's owned it's his job to find solutions.

We've literally had no defenders at points this season. To not moan is incredible, especially with the pressure some fans have put him under. There's an easy get out, but he's not taken it.

I think it's a good message for the team too - no excuses. From the top we own our job and decisions.

I also think it's meant some portion of the fans have been much harsher on him than they should be. We all know there are injuries, but after certain matches a small segment of fans vilify him for playing a certain formation, or a player out of position, when there frankly isn't any other option. I've then asked the question of what they'd have done instead and there's deathly silence as a reply, followed by some other moan.

Injuries, forcing us to not have experience on the pitch, forcing us to play all our very young players, changing positions, not building partnerships etc. It's been our main issue this season.

But he's never once moaned. Imagine if we fans also tried to follow that example

He has managed his step up from the second tier of German football to arguably the toughest league in the world remarkably well with a crippled squad that has not had much continuity this season.

As learning curves go this has been a tough one and for me he is holding his own very well.

On a positive note, he is relentlessly positive.
Listening to Ayari interviewed recently the players buy into it.
When the dust settles we may find that Fab is getting a lot more out of our players than we realized at the time.

Apart from saying 'guys' a lot, he presents himself and the club very well. He also appears to buy into the - ahem - process. Seems to be on board with the way of working, although they all say that until they jump ship I suppose.

He's kept us in European contention despite endless injuries and only in his top flight season. He's pragmatic and flexible, when the plan failed he tries to change it. I often remember I support Brighton and it's all f***ing lala land up here, so enjoy the ride.

He also never complains about referees or decisions (unless I've missed something). Never throws players under the bus publicly. Never complains about the club. Never complains about the fans (even when they boo). He just gets his head down and cracks on.

In some ways, it does him a disservice, because had he been more vocal about these things, maybe the fans wouldn't dismiss them so easily.

Also, he seems like a really genuine and good sort
