Over there
with less than 3 weeks to the big day, what are:-
1:- You having for Christmas dinner? Are you a traditional roast turkey and all the trimmings kind of person? or would you have something different like a fish dish?
2:-What's your favourite Christmas indulgence? (to eat or drink, something you would only usually buy for Christmas.
3:- What's your favourite Christmas song or Hyme?

for me
1:-roast turkey and all the trimmings, and yes this most definitely includes the much maligned sprout, I bloody love em.
2:- A good port and quality cheeses
3:- I rather like the Greg Lake song ( for the life of me I can't remember the title)
who doesn't like Slades classic and I'm rather partial to a bit of "in the bleak mid winter"

1. Decent bit of Roast Beef, not a big fan of Turkey.
2. Used to be alternate handfuls of peanuts and Terry's plain chocolate orange, don't really have a specific one now - perhaps 4pts of Harvey's Old from the brewery shop.
3. Got to be "I wish it could be Christmas everyday" by Wizzard who were basically the English pop rock god that is Roy Wood.

Ahh wine gums eh? good choice as a pudding, but might I suggest roast turkey walkers crisps as a main.

Oh go on then, after all, it is Christmas! I`ll get myself a packet and eat them secretly in the bathroom as I don`t want to upset the kids. Listening to them whingeing that they`re starving would put me right off my single-malt.

Edit: Bon Jovi `Please come home for Christmas`

Tut, bloody hungry kids eh? they want the moon on a stick. And I hope for all their moaning, I hope you used their Christmas present money on the finest single malt possible.

excellent choices sir.
Another little Christmas tradition/indulgence is Mrs Birkin cooks up a massive gammon joint glazed with honey and Dijon mustard and I spend the rest of the yultine carving off a slice when no ones looking, in the words of Basil Fawlty like some kind of scavenger gourmet.

1 - Roast turkey every year bar one, we had venison instead that year.
2 - Port, spicy cheddar cheese and crackers. Or possibly christmas pudding with copious amounts of double cream.
3 - 'Merry Christmas Everyone' from the typical christmas songs, but I do love some of the choral stuff we used to sing in the school choir.

We prefer chicken to turkey in our house, and nothing wrong with brussel sprouts at any time of year. After the grub and grog we normally have a festive knees-up to some old skool classics:

Right Here, Right Now
1: Roast turkey with all the trimmings ( though this year the good lady wife has suggested one of those three bird roasts, duck inside a chicken then these inside a turkey. There's only the two of us this year so if she does do it we will probably beceating it until Easter!! ).

2: A good Christmas pudding with a glass or two of red wine.

3: Silent night or We three kings.

I'm getting bloody hungry reading all this.

1) Turkey with trimmings. Gammon on Christmas Eve probably.

2) Another one for port and cheeses. The port sippers will be making a long overdue appearance.

3) Fairytale of New York

Oh yes, as long a sgammon is involved I'll be happy. And my mum used to mix chestnuts in with the sprouts and drench them in real butter, it's a real treat I tell thee.
