A taste of Sussex

I caught an episode of the hairy bikers doing Monmouthsire at the w/e. I know they did one on East Sussex, but for me, it didn't feature food I would have said typified our local fare. (they may have done West Sussex too, but I've not seen it)

I know we have Sussex pond pudding (although I don't believe I've even seen it on a menu), and I think we lay claim to the Steak and Kidney pudding, but what is YOUR taste of Sussex ?

Longs Sausages, anyone else remember them. Shop in Ship Street or somewhere. The most fabulous meaty and herby sausages I have ever ever had.

The Hairy Bikers summed Sussex up at the end. 'This place has everything' said in a broad Geordie twang.

I like them, they make cooking seem both enjoyable and achievable.
