A sad site indeed

On saturday afternoon while we sat at three bridges waiting for the train down to brighton the platform opposite was chocker block with Chelsea fans, must have been a good 100 or so and on the platform down to brighton there was me and two mates.

I couldn't help thinking there was sometihng wrong there, we'r ein f***ing sussex but no one gives a f*** about their local team. Funny thing was last season the chelsea contingent on the other platform was no more than about 15 or 20 waiting for the same train.

f***ing disgraceful glory hunting ****s.

Ha ha ha, £ 49 for a ticket in the Shed End - I used to go there when a Student in London and it can't have been more than £ 6 or so a game.

Sadly there's always been quite a lot of support for Chelsea once you get north of the Downs. In the 70s Crawley used to be a hot-bed of Chelsea support - not sure if it still is.

Still, look on the bright side - at least it's not Palace! Now that WOULD be sad!

I know, even my old man was going to "have a word" with the idiot. He tried covering it up with his denim jacket when he saw us looking at him. A prized :censored: tit!

Id rather they supported Palace. Ive got more respect for people that support their home team than glory hunt to be honest.

That is a valid point and I know Palace fans moan about people who come from places like Coulsdon and Purley, natural Palace territory, and support Chelsea. Like you I have far more respect for people who support their local side, but still, I don't like the thought of Palace fans living almost on my doorstep.

I'd always assumed that Crawley was full of Chelsea fans because it was a new town and people had bought their allegiances with them, however nowadays it probably is glory hunters as you say.
