Lancing
My wife has curvature of the spine arthritis and also had worn hip joints but has had both hip joints replaced and as such is much more mobile and generally in less pain, apologies for the somewhat short original post but I kept having an endless stream of adverts popping up so decided to just press post and come back to it later

OTOH, my father's sciatica was really helped by SUSPENSE.
He rigged up two rope 'nooses' from the garage rafters and with them under his arms, hung there every Sunday morning for an hour while listening to The Archers omnibus edition. I guess it was a sort of traction treatment but using his own weight to ease the nerves etc.

Once the sciatica had essentially disappeared, he left the nooses in the garage and would use them occasionally if he felt the need.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor (I never really bothered).

Behind My Eyes
My friend sent me a newspaper clipping 'Why back pain is so hard to cure'.
A paragraph I found interesting ....
There are two components to all pain. One of the components is the way it's processed in the brain. And that component is quite amenable to thinking differently about it, accepting it and making general efforts towards wellness
