All I can say is that my Saints supporting mtes laughed when I told them and genuinely thought I was taking the piss. They cannot beleive we are even considering it. Apparently he is just like Booker, Hinsh etc, the classic great coach, but not a manager.

Please DK, don't do it:eek: :nono:

Perhaps he's being interviewed as No 2 to someone! ???

If Booker gets the job he'll need an assistant.

I'm inclined to agree with simster.

I'm also of the opinion there are an awful lot of 'oh no not Stuart Gray' posts from people I dont think know a great deal about the guy. (not neciseraly on this thread)

Not my first choice of course either.

'Neciseraly'!?!?!?

Edit please. Necessarily.

I trust DK.

On the face of it I'm not too keen on Gray, but that is based only on the fact that he was crap at Soton when he had a crap team and not much time.

I don't have access to advice from football people and I'm not in the interviews, so my opinion ain't worth listening to at this stage.

If its SG then so be it. I'll get behind the team.

I used to live in Southampton. I used to go and watch Southampton a lot. Almost all of my friends down there are Saints season ticket holders.

Gray is hopeless. He inherited a really good side from Hoddle and turned it to shite almost instantly. He then had the summer to work with them, and nothing improved. A very, very bad choice indeed.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

I'm also one of the "Oh no not Stuart Gray" brigade even though I don't know a great deal about him. However i know this much: my sister's boyfriend (she lives in Romsey) is a Saints season ticket holder and basically he just echoed everything trueblue has said. I spoke to him lunch time and told him this rumour and he was too shocked to laugh.

Incidentally Phil (sister's boyfriend) thought at one time that we should have had Strachan and they should have had Peter Taylor! He no longer has this view!
