I thought it may be interesting to get some perspective and have a look at what other promoted teams have done in the summer window and how they've fared in the following season
I can't say the results are able to tell us too much, but there are some loose conclusions we can draw from the data.
When Players are Signed
1. If you sign more than 50% of your players in July your chances of staying up are 60%.
2. If you sign less than 50% of your players in July your chances of staying up are 40%.
We signed 50% of our players in July, and 50% after so not sure what that tells us!
On a side note (and based on very limited data) it also looks that doing a lot of your business early can be a bad thing - perhaps not getting the quality in at the start of the window than you can find at the end? Reading 12-13 and Boro 16-17 did a lot of business early and panned. Let's see what Huddersfield and Newcastle do who are next in the list of early business.
How many players are brought in
1. If you sign 10 players or more your chances of staying up are 71%.
2. If you sign 9 players or less your chances of staying up are 38%.
We signed 8 players so not looking good on that front! If only we'd signed those two elusive strikers!

The data, teams that managed to stay up:

more to follow.... (teams that went down)
