Statistically, children are more likely to be sexually abused by a member of their own family.

Seagull on the wing is a fine, upstanding chap. A good sort. What a shame his kind offer is being treated so disrespectfully.

Statistically, your child is in more danger when you strap them into the back seat of your car to take them to the match (1.06% chance of death or injury on the road) than they would be if you left them in the hands of a stranger (0.00004% chance of stranger being a paedophile) Nobody thinks about the former, but it's sad when people like SOTW come forward with such a kind and generous offer, and straight away, people are trying to make him feel ashamed of himself for asking, what a sad state of affairs, and all thanks to today's media, who love to fan the flames of this pathetic PC culture we live in. I'm sorry that you were made to feel like you had to withdraw the offer SOTW, and I hope you will reconsider. If we can't learn to start trusting each other again, then there really is no hope for society.

It just so happened that I got to my first Albion game through someone I never knew before...the trouble today if you try and help someone there is so much skullduggery in peoples minds...for Gods sake...what could anyone do in front of a 28,000 crowd,I could call on several people at the club for a reference...so sad that it is so suspicious... is that what this country is coming to....some child injured in an accident and parents worried that the ambulance personel might sexually touch their child...jeez,we are not that way..as I said, having had 3 handicapped children has been a burden but I want to help, but if you and the murky minds want to make this an issue, then go ahead,OFFER WITHDRAWN....HAPPY NOW!

WOW , just WOW .....what a shame , a genuine , heartfelt offer to give a youngster an experience they may never have had otherwise , withdrawn because of the witterrings of one of the more dubious characters on the board........why are people so suspiscious , untrusting and downright negative..........SotW , if it's any consolation i thought it was a very noble offer ,however you would now appear to be free to advertise the 1901 experience for your own monetary gain......carry on mate...

First I would like to thank the supporters who have given me back the faith in mankind by private messages and on this thread.
I was hoping to arrange to have a Lounge Host to escort us to the seats and meet one of the ex players. But it seems there are certain people who like to stick their oar in as a champion of the disavantaged,I really hope they are proud. We are not all self self self and suspicious of everyones motives.
The reason this was not put through the club itself was a matter of timing... (and I do have connections with some of the clubs staff) my son couldn't make the game and it was only yesterday that I found out.
Reason I did not 'sell' the ticket or the experience was to help someone who would not get the chance in other circumstances, I have at times given the ticket to other fans who have been unable to afford to go.
Once again, thanks for the support from some of the fans.

Que ? what has a newspaper to do with the offer.....strange,really strange.

I think he tried to lighten the end of his post with an attempted throw-away joke based on the Mail's penchant for lurid stories!

p.s. truly sorry for the upsetting responses you've received; in general, people's judgement of others reflects their own standards.
