The Alive and Kicking Appeal and the Falmer For All campaign are running a Video racing night at Brighton Racecourse on the 22nd January 2005 from 8pm

The evening is sponsored by Albion Travel. There will be 8 races, with 8 horses per race, a raffle and an auction.

The bar will also be open and there will be plenty of hot food available.

Admission is £2 for adults and £1 consessions.

Should be a good night and plenty of booze, gambling and food!

I have just agreed to dress up as a PANTOMIME HORSE at Withdean on Boxing Day, in order to promote this.

So you'd better buy a ticket.

is 8pm doors open or first race?

is Mark McGhee or any players going to be there (or does that depend on Forest result!)?

Any choice items in the Raffle / Auction?

Can you "buy" the horses or just bet on them (or are they all sold already?)

Off on holiday the following morning, so won't be able to decide until the packing gets started.

One of the races is sponsored by the Dark Star Brewery and some of the horses in that race are still available to "buy". There's a sponsorship/buy a horse form in the Evening Star pub.

Whats the deal when you 'buy' a horse? Do you get money if it wins or just a name check?

You get 'great prizes' if it wins. On the Evening Star form, there is no limit to the number of people wot can buy the same horse, the prizes are just split between them if it's more than one. At least 3 or 4 horses still unbought last I saw...

According to the papers experts predict that that will be the worse day of the year with people feeling down so perhaps this will 'pep' them up a little.
