The bbc site says other clubs chasing him from Spain but not top clubs so his wage wil not be anything like his present for a new contract.

He'd have been getting a top division bonus though. Imagine he's on about £25k, though that's a similar stab in the dark. Their top wage earners last year were netting roughly that figure.
Yep, Mr Consistency Stephen Ward has been a great signing in his place.

Ward was first seen as a lightweight replacement for Bridge but he is proving to be an experienced and valuable LB at this level.

Something about him leaving Newcastle, absolutely F-all about him joining us. Why do some think he will only continue playing for 2/3 years more by coming to us. He can earn considerably more elsewhere.

Wages yeah somebody will pay him double what we would if they get him on a free. Even if that's say 20k down from 40k. Doubt we pay many more than 10k even with bonuses
