the worst bit is setanta's involvement, how many people have the money to pay for sky sports and then setanta? granted they are only going to get some friendlies but still can't see it being good. and as for ITV guess we won't be seeing the cup get lifted or the celebrations they always seem to go to adverts just as that is about to happen

That seems fair if it can be proved that they were responsible.

I would like to see it revert to the manner of 'the old days' on both BBC and ITV and Itv used to have wrestling before, usually Mick McManus vs Jackie Pallo, and BBC used to follow the teams from about 9.00am what a days television that was!.

It just goes to show that money talks, yet another sport disappearing rapidly from terrestrial TV, just as others have since satellite TV became dominant. The only bad thing is that interest in football will also diminish, fewer kids see it on the box, fewer then go out and play the game trying to emulate their stars...how many of us played football as kids, pretending that we were our hero of the day. Ultimately there are less people taking up football and the game then suffers in the long run, thereby diminishing the returns for those who have it in a vice like grip, killing the goose that lays the golden egg...

a lot of the ITV digital problem was down to the FA and the solicitors they employed to sort out the contract. There was no clause that would allow them to sue the parent company which clearly proved to be a huge cock up. So as much as ITV are shit at football and i don't think they should be allowed football a lot of the problem was also down to the useless FA
