According to the Beeb, Freddie "Newcastle women are dogs" Shepherd's £60m bid for Newcastle is likely to be accepted. That's a bit of a drop from the £100m that Ashley was asking for - and a long way from the £300m that was the original asking price.

As Tony Bloom has put about £90m into the Albion, does this mean that we are now officially a bigger club than Newcastle?:lol:

We don't have their wages bill, at least.
They have high expectations every season, and a huge stadium to maintain.

I'd rather be BHA, than NUFC, that's for sure.

It just gets worse for Newcastle fans doesn't it? That fat clown Shepherd shouldn't be let anywhere near a Sunday team, let alone NUFC.

I know. Him going back to Newcastle would be like Bill Archer coming back to Brighton. Maybe not quite as bad, but not far short.

From Sheperds POV it looks good though. Sell the club (can't remember how much but £140m rings a bell), Ashely pays off all the club debt and buy it back for £60m. If it wasn't for the humungous salaries of the playing staff it would be a sweet financial deal.

I read somewhere that Ashley is currently paying out £200,000 A DAY to cover players salaries

Viduka and Owen both have clauses which say if they don't join anyone in July they will get another month's wages from Newcastle. Thats about £750,000 even though neither will ever play for them again and are both out of contract.

Lots of people in charge of that club need SHOOTING.

Could we tempt Bloom into buying Newcastle and then loaning us loads of players?
