5 quid a ticket for Huddersfield

whilst I agree in principle to what the club are doing and I paid me ST a year ago, so that is dead money.....one of the problems with giving out £5 tickets, is that if I cant go to a match, then trying to sell my ticket becomes almost impossible, therefore this in my books is another reason not to lash out £450 in a couple of weeks time.


In the past it was fairly easy to sell your ticket....now you cant give them away, which equares to paying well over the odds for the games you are seeing.

Of course the argument about "bums on seats" is only valid if the people who came in el cheapo return....at Forest there were many hundreds who came in on offers, but the next game vs B City as there was no offers, they didnt return........that is the problem here

Surely a better business model is to invest in the team so people want to come and watch the Albion, and then charge a decent price for tickets?

I wonder how season ticket holders feel having stumped up over 20 quid for the same match?

There is having a go at the club for somethings they do and there is you if the club gave you 200 grand free you would moan it was not 201 grand,season tickets love this club and i would hope would be happy the club was trying to put bums on seats

Letters were sent to Season ticket holders that took advantage of the offer last time. Why is it news?

it is to me, I bought 2 tickets for the Rotherham game but I havent recieved anything from the club about this latest offer

How do you know who returned, or WILL return after the Forest match?

Some were probably in a hurry to come back, and may have attended the B.City match (and felt the ups and downs of being at BHA games!). Some could have tasted the range of emotions and felt it's for them, some not.
Some might, after a couple of weeks, feel that they have some familiarity and not feel shy about popping over on a Saturday afternoon when they don't have some other committment - or that after some thought they liked the experience and want to go again...sporadically.
VERY few are ever likely to be instant loyal supporters anyway, but the seeds are sown with them to make a return.
Some might wait for offers, because they only have a little occasional pocket-money.

Selling seats that would have otherwise gone empty is not a bad thing, and can only have a longer-term benefit, as far as I can see.

I have no idea if they will come back some other time. On the evidence of the Forest game, the East Stand was full as was the family stand, and we won. The next game was Bristol City, following on from a win and the East Stand was a near as dammit empty. Yes you are right, they may all have had other things to do, but it seems co-incidental.

If the hudds game is relatively full again, then you could point to the fact that cheap prices are the main factor for these people coming along.

If that proves to be the case, then it is in the interest of the club to drop the match day prices....if that happens, I cannot see STH renewing in the numbers they have done previously.

LIke you say Dave, STH money is dead money. Within reason, I'm happy to write off a certain chunk of that as a sort of charitable donation to the club seeing as how the tickets have no resale value anymore. I'm lucky in that I can just about afford to do so. So I don't begrudge the club trying to generate further income any way it can throughout the tail end of the season. But I can also see how large numbers of STH will vote with their feet come renewal time due to the sheer economics of the thing.

To be fair Tom, I suspect a fair few will anyway. I think the club knows this as well. Hence the delay in sending out renewals this year.

I would imagine most people who have bought a 5 quid ticket will be traumatised for a life time amd never return.

Ask the club if punters return...surely they will be taking stats to use for future marketing.

If you want to put bums on seats sell an attractive product at an appropriate price. It isnt rocket science.

A decent striker will sell tickets, Savage and an couple of non-league clowns will not.
