Tomorrow, i'll have a different top 5

Good because those five are terrible.

No offence intended. To be honest my wife may have picked at least two of them.

To give you a chance to slag mine off:

Too Much Too Young - Specials
Keep On Keeping On - The Redskins
Fairytale of New York - The Pogues
My Favourite Dress - The Wedding Present
Gigantic - The Pixies

That's the one. I should have put 'The Special AKA Live EP' as 'Too Much Too Young' misses off 'Liquidator', 'Skinhead Moonstomp,' 'Longshot Kick de Bucket' etc.

Played it to death on its release. Those were the days when a number one record could still be respected.

George McCrea Rock Your Baby
Detroit Emeralds Feel The Need In Me
Kenny Rogers Ruby
Stevie Wonder All is Fair in Love
Rubettes Sugar Baby Love

That'll be Rock your Baby from 1974, then
And Kenny Roger's Ruby was 1969
Rubettes - 1974
Feel the need in me - 1973.

I don't really like picking people up like that but, having been around in the 1970s, it just hit me they needed checking.

I recall that these (amongst others) got heavy rotation at the time

Cocteau Twins - Plain Tiger
The Birthday Party - The Friend Catcher
Dead Kennedys - Too Drunk to F*ck
Public Enemy - Rebel Without A Pause
808 State - Pacific State

One out if five aint bad though.
Doesn't time go by fast.
I really should have known better when I was posting them i sort of knew i was probably miles out especially Rock Your Baby as it has so many memories, just plain embarrasing that is.
I never knew Ruby was that early though.
I should have checked but I have no excuse.
I dont usually care what others think but I am squirming right here.

Squirm not. It doesn't really matter. I remember Ruby from when I was at school, which I left in 1971.
