174/7. Sigh!
Now that was a collapse of EPIC proportions. Last 5 wickets went for 6, yes 6 runs. Pathetic England.
On the Aussie commentary, David Lloyd says "There's lots of rubbish and debris blowing across the pitch". Bill Lawry, quick as a flash says "that's the English batsmen".
England 179 all out. Aus need 231 to win. Mark Nicholas reckons that there is nothing wrong with the pitch.
Two things I find worrying there are Carberry's run rate and the collapse of the tail.
Cook was scoring freely at one end, indicating a good pitch and below par bowling. Yet Carberry's inability to score gave Australia hope that if they could get Cook out they'd be able to contain the other batsmen and exert pressure. Carberry just didn't set the tone.
Bell is woefully out of form, while a combined 2 centuries from 33 tests from Root, Carberry and Bairstow is simply not good enough.
