may be worth loading up with books of stamps, with the 1st / 2nd logo, rather than priced ones.. then they will be usable when prices go up again..

45p for someone to collect an envelope you drop in a red box randomly positioned throughout the city, sort it, then deliver it to the door of the recipient potentially 100's of miles away is not bad value for money IMHO.

Hmmm... companies used to send more paper bills, perhaps, but people have never sent many letters.

I'm with Jack Dee on this one: Try and deliver it yourself. Go to the railway station tell them you've got 45p and see how far you f***ing get.
