Can West Indies be any poorer than last time out?
If they are they could well be bowled out in a session for 50 and the test could be over in 2 days.

According to the BBC, the weather in Leeds is set pretty fair for the next 3 days... which is nice.
Cricinfo has this encouraging opening paragraph:
"If West Indies are looking for inspiration in Headingley, they probably don't want to cast their eyes at their last two visits to the ground. In 2007, they were beaten by an innings and 283 runs (albeit with Ramnaresh Sarwan unable to bat), an even heftier drubbing than last week at Edgbaston and their biggest-ever innings defeat. In 2000, the match - a few weeks after what remains their last Test victory in England - didn't see a third day as West Indies were skittled for 61 in their second innings as Andrew Caddick took four wickets in an over."

Good point. But 14 wickets at under 20 runs each? Compelling case to be on the trip. We've had decades when our leading bowlers weren't able to do that!

To make it more competitive - reverse the batting order, and only batsmen can bowl.
Also there is no point counting any performances against the West Indies for a place to Australia. Otherwise we end up with someone like Ravi Bopara who scored 100's for fun against WI but nothing when the opposition got harder (see also everyone batting at 2 since Strauss retired). Is the problem technique or temperament?

Well at least one of the WI's excises for their poor show in the last test can't be used this time. I read in the paper yesterday they were too cold to field properly in the evening sessions

A bit more fire-power and a proper spinner.... could it make a difference?
