Now, I don't think I've grasped the terminology here so indulge me:
By 'standout short', you think Arsenal's points total will be lower?
And by 'wary of selling Newcastle', you think they'll get a higher total?
If so, not entirely sure on either. As you noted in your OP, the points total for the top 3 is comparatively low. I think buying City and especially Liverpool are the better odds.
A 'short' is the position you now hold after having sold.
If you buy you create a 'Long' position.
A 'standout short' isn't any particular terminology, it's just me expressing an opinion that at 76.5 I think Arsenal look a good sell.
I see them finishing the season around the 68 point mark or even lower.
Yes, 'wary of selling Newcastle' means I think they'll end up with more points than where they're currently quoted, but not by much, so risk-reward isn't really there.
Same with Liverpool - buying @ 78 when I'm thinking maybe low 80's is again not much reward for the risk taken.
