Re: Tomori, he might want to come back to England, so hard to know what a player wants when so much is governed by private lives, ability to settle, find a nice home, learn the language, plus partners, family, homesickness… so much goes on behind the scenes the gossip sheets don’t know

Juventus has made a bid on Fikayo Tomori (an outside chance target for us as larger clubs interested and not a player we need that much at the moment)

He is EXCTLY whart we need.

Dunk's form has been patchy and injuries seem to be catching up with him.

Webster spends a lot more time injured than not, but fortunately one of his rare periods of availability coincides with Dunk's latest injury.

Igor limped off yesterday.

As it stands, we may only have two fit centre-backs right now.

Thread on this one been running for a few days...

There’s a thread running on most of these so feel free to merge them and there was nothing on that thread about the Juventus bid so I was just posting an update.. 🤷‍♂️

(I know there was a thread on Tomori btw I listed him in my opening post as one of our targets because of the ongoing thread)

I didn’t say we didn’t need a CB at all at all of course it would be good to sign him especially in looking ahead to next season but this happens every January window - we pick up injuries and we want the January window to be used to cover players who may not be out for long term. Hurzeler has more often than not being playing 3 defenders at the back with two FBs playing further forward so we are more flexible there than if we were wedded to 4 at the back with two central defenders. Webster is back, Hinshelwood will be back soon to help out and provided we don’t sell Lamptey, the situation isn’t ideal but lets see where we are with Dunk and Igor in 2 or 3 weeks time before worrying too much because if at least one of those is back in that timeframe, the situation although not ideal, won’t be dire (IMHO!)

Fergies agents seem like complete twats. I suspect Brighton will allow it if we get a replacement which ain't happening in January surely.
Ferguson’s representatives can’t do f*** all without his dad’s (Barry Ferguson’s) agreement. So if his dad thinks that his development has stalled at Brighton, he’ll be looking at options. If we think his development has stalled, we’ll encourage all manner of conversations to get Evan back to his best. That’s good development and management👍

Amazing once in a lifetime opportunity and experience that could be for him!
Is he linked to us in some way?

Struggling to see the connection

Sounds like Ferguson will be off on loan if Welbeck returns....

"Ferguson has been touted for a loan move away from Brighton this month and it is believed the club would ideally like him to stay in the Premier League.

"It is understood West Ham have already made an enquiry about Ferguson but that Brighton want to be sure of Danny Welbeck’s fitness before making a decision on his future."

But what happens when we loan Ferguson, because Welbeck is back fit, but then he gets injured again on Feb 1st? Personally I think we'd be stupid to loan him out. Pedro's best position is not number 9, so that role should be rotated between Welbeck and Ferguson (sub and starter). There's not a side in the Prem that thinks having one number 9 in their squad is okay. You've got to have cover for suspensions, injuries, fatigue, or simply subbing within a game. We've not scored many goals recently, so clearly because we're short of strikers. Madness to be thinking about then loaning one as soon as they're back fit!

I think we replace Ferguson with the lad from USG.
I believe that Ferguson really does need a lot of minutes to get back on his game. I just don’t think he’ll get enough here, manly because we can’t afford to put up with his poor performances whilst he finds form again. We need a No.9 banging in the goals, not trying to find their touch again.

But they way things work out for us, if we don’t loan Ferguson out, Welbeck will be fit for the rest of the season meaning Evan will get few opportunities; if we do loan him out, Welbz is going to get a big injury and might not play before the summer.

& if we sign a striker from another league we spend the rest of the season getting them upto speed instead of Ferguson. Not many strikers come straight in and start banging in goals.
