NSC currently has 391,790 threads.

My guess is that about four or five of those stayed on topic throughout.
Yup... not sure how off topic I went either when talking about our striker situation in a transfer thread... I'd say there are at least 2 or 3 times when I've ventured further away from the subject

A list of rumours and transfers without much talk in between is quite useful to have, like in the first post, but in the thread of course the current squad will also be mentioned as it plays some role in what we're bringing in. Well, unless they are goalkeepers or wingers of course, never gonna have enough of those.

Could see us signing a maximum of two first team players in January and 90% sure they will be defenders in that case. Not so sexy maybe, but something we need more than strikers atm.

Sentiment aside, I'd much rather we let him go at the end of the season, have Offiah as his replacement/succession plan, and us Tariq's wages better elsewhere on the pitch than sat on the treatment table.
Just flagged this in the loanee tracker thread but Offiah's contract appears to expire in May

I know it's a gamble, but given what he's currently doing and his age, he could be the best prospect we've ever had. I'm not even sure £60M would do it
Well, Levy has a stratospheric reputation for throwing money around in massive quantities for any player that catches his eye*. I've no doubt he will find the take-out number pretty soon

*this may not be 100% accurate

Would be cruel bringing the player back to sit on the bench or the stands for us AGAIN now when he's finally making a name for himself.

He's 22 years old and needs to play first team football and despite his good performances at Blackpool he is VERY unlikely to play for us again.

From what I’ve seen Offiah isn’t the long term internal answer anyway. At a real stretch Tasker might be but not for a while. He’ll need more U21 football or a loan. If Tariq goes we’ll almost certainly see a ready made (ish) replacement purchased or the RB role alternate between Veltman and Ferdi.

I'd rather we recruit a new RB externally too but it would be a shame if Offiah left on a free.

Exactly... like Michael Kayode. Parma involved now as well but I know who I'd pick out of Parma, Brentford and Brighton...

My guess it that we have an optional year for Offiah and that the plan for him this season was to be good in League One so we can use the option and sell him to a Championship club.

I do think we might look at the USG forward I mentioned earlier in the thread though 😉
There are already articles saying that we are...

Makes sense due to his contract situation I guess.

More likely than not to get sold I would imagine. I'd put a fiver on West Ham or Marseille.

"West Ham have contacted Brighton about a potential loan move for striker Evan Ferguson, talkSPORT understands.

Arsenal are also plotting a move, along with Fulham who are also interested."

The Fulham and Arsenal interest is laughable

Surely there will be loans for some of our more established U21s - specifically Samuels, Peupion and Turns. All three are in the final year of their contracts, though there appears to be an option for a further year for Turns. Samuels and Peupion had unsuccessful loans last season, so any loans will probably be 'shop-window' loans, aiming to find them a permanent home and career move; not much in it for the Albion - just the development fee thing, I think, decided by a tribunal.
Turns has had three loans, with mixed success, so we might be able to trigger his one year extension and get a fee for him.
