Which promotion do you think was the biggest achievement. I know I'm still on a high from yesterday, but I'm inclined to say 2004. When we went up as champions, the first part of the season we were underdogs in every game having come up rom Div Three, but we were on the crest of a wave and carried it through to put ourselves in a great position to eventually win it. Take nothing away from that, it was awesome.

However, yesterday just seems to be that bit sweeter. The pain of last year and the fact we were a team on a downer losing their best player. A good bit of business getting Knight and Roberts in, then we lose Coppell and have a dreadful couple of months being booted in the nuts over Falmer etc. I believe it was a weaker division this time around, but we were expected to beat sides this time so the pressure was increased. And of course we held our nerve at the end when others lost their and we overcame two sides who were probably bettwe than us.

So, while I think 2002 was a spot of championship vintage, the sparkling 2004 bersion certainly stands out that bit more for me.

2002 was by far the biggest achievement, however, as for feelings it would have to be Cardiff yesterday. the feeling you only get on one off cup final style games.

Loving it still :clap2:

Yesterday was unbeatable so far as the one-off pure elation went. It WAS like winning the F.A. Cup or something similar.

However as achievements go it's got to be the 2002 Championship. We'd come up from Division 3 and most people would have been happy with a mid-table finish. The way we took the divsion apart and some of the football we played was amazing.

This season we were fully expected to go straight back up again (I did anyway, and I always set our targets lower to avoid disappointment). Division Two this season has been absolutely piss poor and had we played like this last in 2002 then we'd have finished about tenth.

Yesterday was AMAZING, definitely the best single day of my Albion-supporting life so far, but the 2002 triumph was far more satisfying overall.

at the end of the day, in the 2 seasons we've been in the 2nd div, we've been champs and won at cardiff, how quality is that!

2002 was a far bigger achievement. Back-2-Back Championes and all that. Plus we looked the part. But the timing of this year's promotion just ahead of the Falmer decision - and very possibly clinching it - takes some beating.

I don't buy this thing about div2 being crap this year - we're just looking at it from a different perspective, looking both up and down rather than being the best team in the league. We've been concerned with the likes of Swindon & Port Vale down to Wrexham, so we perceive the standard as being weaker, plus we are a lesser team this time.

I think the top three from 2001/2002 compares pretty evenly with this - Brighton/Reading/Brentford were pretty clear of the rest, versus Plymouth/QPR/Bristol City this time.

It's is weaker, but it's not that bad

Like every Albion fan, I thought yesterday was absolutely fantastic, but now that we've been there and done it, I think its promotion the hard way. I certainly didn't feel very "sparkly" at 118 minutes against Swindon.
Give me automatic promotion any time - its much less stressful.

I think 2004 was better in that the outcome was uncertain, in 2002 we always looked like going up

Maybe it's because it hasn't sunk in yet but 2002. It feels like the celebrations were all over so quickly. In 2002 we had a few games to sing Championes and the like.
