Just had this conversation in the WSL bar. We could get 50 corners and we won't score from them if we pump it in the middle because we have no aerial threat at all. If we're going to play tika take style we might as well take corners short. Hasn't harmed Barca.

Greer was shocking tonight btw but not because he didn't score from corners but because his passing was schoolboy level and he constantly invited the floated ball to the back post when defending.

Calm down Woodchip - not blaming anyone but it just strikes me as strange that a big hairy centre half cannot get on the end of at least one of 19 balls into the box.

It was on the other thread. Greer scored a goal at Burnley, with his head, from a corner.

According to the BBC, we had 19 corners but just shaded possession with 51%. If we had just over half the possession in that match then I'm the king of Albania

Thanks Thunder Bolt - the question stemmed from a discussion on the way home between two ex centre halves who had scored from corners during their careers and are a little bemused that GG is lacking in this.

Greers fault ? what a load of bollox you are right, but last season the concesus was the lack of goals from our strikers was down to poor service that was also bollox.Our strikers are getting great service this season again and are still not scoring,they are not good enough.Barnes will improve he is still young and we should not be relying on him, McSmudger should be doing much better
