15 minutes of fame

Had a few 15mins of fame in my previous life as member of Brighton's Best Band Never To Get A Deal (as voted for by themselves) Chrome Yellow. Favourite rock'n'roll memories;

Looking after Cerys from Catatonia's gloves while they soundchecked (support to Catatonia @ The Underground Club). She was lovely, the rest of the band a tad pretentious.

Being supported by Echobelly (the lead singer caught our bass player getting a bj backstage and didn't seem impressed)

Blowing Lush (the band!) off stage at the Mandella Hall, Sussex University

Telling the bass player from 1000 Yard Stare to f*** off

Meeting the bass player and drummer from Crowded House

Meeting the legend Miles Copeland (Stuarts brother, the man who signed REM to IRS) @ The Marquee

Getting invited for a 'smoke' with Tricky

Jese my life seems boring now!

Was part of a group of eight playing musical instruments made out of cardboard on the Wide Awake Club.
While we're on the subject of Michaela Strachan, I once appeared on The Hit Man and Her.

She's better looking than Cherie Blair.

:)

Chrome Yellow? Now you're talking! I was involved in arranging for your lot to do a gig at Lewes Town Hall for the Cliffe Bonfire Society a few years back. Bloody good if I remember rightly!

Why thank you. That was a good night as I remember. Those Lewes nutters were always good fun to be around.

Had an Early Day Motion for me in the House of Commons in 1994 ... 67 MPs signed it and still have it framed in my study at home

I produced a single that reached the dizzy heights of 93 in the singles charts and which was remixed by Norman Cook. :drink:

I also co-wrote and performed the theme tune to two channel 4 sports programs. The review of the second one in The Observer was 25% remarking how bad the program was and 75% on how bad the theme tune was!

I was also interviewed for an item on High Fidelity by Nick Hornby on Bookworm, but they edited my incoherent ramblings out (although they did include footage of my Technics SL1200 record deck playing a record)

I guess I've had about 45 minutes of fame (so far).

All this and the NSC Pantomime Horse race to come - I am so priveleged to be me.

I inadvertantly appeared on Songs of Praise. They interviewed a local councillor on Haywards Heath station and unfortunately I was in the background on my way to school and my mum spotted me.

I say unfortunately because I was about 13 or 14 at the time and I was smoking.

smoking pasty ? never . . .it must have been low, thick fog :lolol:

I forget how many times I've been on TV and had my picture published, you'd have to get my agent to trawl through the archives :lolol:

a full page pic of me at a gig in Italian Vogue was somewhat ironic, and bloody funny !
