Just shy of 400 million received in player sales in the last year or so. Quite incredible really, hopefully we can use some of the money to sign a combative defensive midfielder. Caicedo’s loss will be felt much more than Macalister IMO.
I trust we are ok for Finanicial Fair Play next season?

Getting that amount of money AND stiffing Chelsea is brilliant, but it’s only half the job. We’ve lost our two most important players this summer and we need to crack on with finding a De Zerbi approved replacement. Every other club is now going to know we’ve got money to burn and we know the club won’t break contractual structures (rightly).

Could still be an interesting three weeks or so.

Agreed, I’m somewhat surprised we don’t have 1 or 2 more signings through the door by now

Glad the saga is over and we can move on but ultimately it’s just another case of “big club with bigger resources raids smaller club with smaller resources for best players”.

Great that we’re getting such a big fee but ultimately we go to the Amex to watch footballers do their thing, not to admire piles of cash.

That said, I do realise this is probably the best outcome we could have realistically achieved (unless Bayern had bid a similar fee).
What about us getting players from smaller clubs? Or is that not an issue?

so just as Ben White “only wanted to sign for Leeds” but jumped at the big payday from Arsenal, another BRIGHTON HOSTAGE has turned mercenary and dumped Chelsea without hesitation. How the fans must feel 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Couldn’t happen to two better clubs!
