We are better than our league position suggests but until we find more goals as a group we will fail to win games where we have been the better side. This part of the puzzle is always the trickiest...

Agreed it is all about more goals and points from otherwise very good team performances.

No mystery when you look at the “strike forces” we have put out for each of our 31 matches this season.

Hopefully more experience into Maupay and Connolly will provide most of the needed improvement and be supplemented by a successful signing.

No surprise when you think we have been in contention for points for the vast majority of matches. It's easier to remember those we weren't. Man City and Chelsea away spring to mind (even latter was included a late ish goal). Any others?

Our goal return from midfield is unacceptable too. Central defenders and own goals are way too high up our scorers list this season. 8-10 goals from a midfield player and this season looks very different.

Yes, a goal-scoring midfielder would probably be enough added to Maupay/Connolly firing.

Indeed.

But this season we could well have our highest goals tally since promotion to the Premier League, and possibly our lowest goals against?

17/18 Goals For 34 Goals Against 50
18/19 Goals For 35 Goals Against 60
19/20 Goals For 34 Goals Against 41

Exactly. I think that although the league position doesn't necessarily show it, we are a better side than the last two seasons and these figures do show that quite well. If we can turn some of the draws into wins we could move up this league quite quickly. We've drawn 12 games had we won say 4 of those we would be 10th. I know that is what if's and maybe's but it does show how fine the margins are in this league

There have been two United sides this season though. Pre-Bruno Fernandes and post-Bruno Fernandes. Unfortunately, we face the post one.
Still.... Last 10 man utd away games... won 3 drawn 3 lost 4 scored 11 !!

Same number of goals for as us over last 10 away games
