Agreed and with comment regarding the ability to put more than one ticket in each envelope. Last week I had three tickets, for parking at the Bridge, arrive in separate envelopes, all stamped with 47p. So know I know where the £1.50 booking fee goes!

Eh? It's a ticketing operations manager, it's not a striker for the first team. Hardly the height of glamour. A dull job sat behind a desk, I wouldn't take it for 30K either.

And the hours look crap as well. I reckon you're looking at 50 plus a week.

Tell Barber about this. If you make one single order for home tickets there is no good reason why they should be sent in separate envelopes thereby tripling the postage cost. He should do something about this so even more money can be passed onto players and their agents.

They can't make you work weekends on only £30k.

Surely the hard work has been done.

Going from being Mr Ticket in his portacabin at Withdean, hand writing envelopes and phoning people up asking if they are coming to the game tomorrow, to 20k+ S/T's and a further 5K+ weekly sales, was a pay scale leap.

But now the system is already in place and all you have to manage it.
I'm sure if after 6 months you've turned the process into a well oiled machine you'll be handsomely rewarded, but on the face of it, a £30k starting wage seems more than decent.

Do people not realize that the ticket office do not send out tickets etc it is all done by a mailing company in Burgess Hill so 3 separate tickets to the same address presumably is their loss not the clubs.

So the tickets get sent to Burgess Hill, to be split up into 3 seperate envopes, and then sent back to a supporter's address in Brighton. Crazy.

I dont know for certain but would imagine that the mailing company send a van over daily to collect everything hat has to be sent out. tickets, news letters etc to supporters. Everything that comes from the club has a return address on the reverse of the company in Burgess Hill

Could be saving the club money by not paying club staff to despatch tickets direct from The Amex and contracting out the work to a company who can pay lower wages by being based in Burgess Hill ? As a positive PR spin the club are in partnership with a Sussex company.

That man is a LEGEND, always very helpful with service and has an amazing memory...knew who I was and I hadn't seen him in years!
