I'm assuming talking about something that isn't related to the coppell-reading situation is off topic...

This has probably been posted before but did anyone think that rushdens ground was situated in the stupidest place for a football ground ever? 5 miles away from the station with no transport to or from the ground. After the game I saw three taxis. Three!?!

And why did it cost so much? We were quoted £70 for a return from brighton to wellinborough. We missed our train because we were arguing with the staff about the over the top price. We ended up having to go via bedford, which took f***ing ages(missed the first 5 mins of the game). didnt get in until 3 in the morning either.

Just thought I'd moan about something different to the reading thing.

I always buy train tickets in advance mate. 14 day advance prices are usually about 1/3 of on the day prices.

I drove and didn't get back to Worthing until gone 1 am. An hour to get out of the ground ,traffic jams on the M1 at midnight and one of the grimmest meals I've ever had at Newport Pagnell themed 1950's service station.

But that didn't deflect from a fu*cking amazing evening. Nice ground, good acoustics, beer on sale, best Albion performance I've seen for a while. Leon's goal celebration (he's gonna get sent off if he keeps that up) alone made the trip worthwhile.

So good that I should have seen it couldn't last more than a couple of days.

I forgot to add that it was an amazing night and well worth the farcical nature of the journey.

Oh, none of the taxi drivers seemed to have a clue where they were going either. They both asked us whether they were going the right way!

Back in Worthing 11:45 - parked on the road next to the ground so got straight out, missed the roadworks on the M1 as they were just putting them out. Should have read the link that said to park on the main road rather than in the ground.

Yours smugly!!!

took me just as long to get out of the bloody car park as it did to get back to Cambridge.

Gave up, turned the engine off and started throwing a rugby ball around cos I was so bored, not on my own I may add, that's just silly.

Couldn't make this game, but that's the trouble with out of town grounds. Apparently Bolton's ground is an absolute nightmare to get away from, though it might have improved now it has a railway station. That holds at least 25,000, rather than 10,000. I have been told that Wycombe is awful as well, and it is miles from the station. Bournemouth was ok last year and most people had to drive because of the train times. There is something to say for refurbishing city centre grounds. Just hope Falmer will be ok.
