Mark McGhee stated after the game that he was very upbeat despite the defeat and still thought we could get out of the relegation zone especially as we still have to play Sheff Weds and Millwall.

Is he

???

I'd be quite interested to see how many 'upbeat despite defeat/upbeat after defeat' stylee quotes there have been this season either in the national press, the Argus, or on the official site.

It just seems like a cut and paste job over the last few weeks.

Who said I wasn;t backing him all the way ???

I have on record that last Saturday I accepted relegation after the Crewe game but I also have it on record that I want McGhee to be the man in charge in August for our first game in div 1.

Fair enough, some of your posts dont seem to have been as enthusiastic as before, although with results maybe thats not surprising.

We are down, dead and buried. 6 defeats in a row, 8 away defeats in a row and 6 wins in 51 games but I still believe McGhee has earned his right to lead our Div 1 campaign next season.

Seeing as we can't even beat Crewe, what is there to be upbeat about?

:nono:

" Mark McGhee said in his post match interview, I know Gatting missed an open goal from 2 years and Henderson let 3 through his legs but we were the better side and played some lovely football after the sixth went in. I am still upbeat despite defeat as we still have Sheff Weds and Millwall to play ".

I am still 100% behind McGhee he is the man but his upbeat despite 11 defeats in 13 and 3 goals in getting quite funny really. Keep your chin up Mark and absolutely refuse the accept the 100% inevitable :D

He's not gonna come out and say "we're a shower of shite and will be relegated, probably finishing bottom" is he? What do you want him to say? ???

Exactly.

He would be slaughtered as a defeatist if he came out and said "we're down".

It's not looking good but we still have a chance.

Keep the f***ing Faith

No manager will say we are down, even Mick McCarthy will say Sunderland can still stay up.
