I am delighted Brighton won the game - and all Brighton fans should have a few scoops tonight - but let's have a sense of realism - its one game and Watford were brutal.

Watford were a shambles at the back for the OG - a Watford defender gave the ball away, the Watford players were slow to react, Stephens over-hit the cross which should have been knocked out of play when a Watford defender headed it back to Gross - whose cross was going out through the penalty area before being bundled into the Watford goal by the defender. For the second goal Watford should have cleared their lines but the defender headed the ball straight to Montoya, and three defenders backed away from Propper allowing him to cross the ball. Andone made a run to the near post and no Watford defender went with him. For the third goal Dunk was allowed to waltz into midfield and nobody went near him, there was a gap the size of the grand canyon through the Watford defence that Dunk put the pass through and Maupay didn't have anyone within 20 yards of him - Maupay took the goal very well, but Dunk should never have been allowed play that ball.

Brighton deserved to win this game - but the 3 goals were complements of very poor Watford defending more than anything else and Watford were very poor. And on another day, that penalty claim could have gone the other way - a successful penalty would have changed the entire dynamic of the game - Watford were putting Brighton under a lot of pressure at the time.

Brighton made Watford look a shambles. Watford started confidently, but we sucked the life out of them as we became a threat, defended well and scored (including the OG which was heading towards Muzza anyway).

Thank you Chris, you delivered. Thank you Tony. Tony Bloom is not afraid to make the right decisions when needed. The man is an Albion fan, he wants to see attractive attacking football. He also knows that we need to stay in this division. He has invested. He takes a risk when necessary. He has invested in GP. We now have a manager with a different mandate, to use the players , to do what they were designed to do. I think CH was superb but a change was needed. Hail Tony. Enjoy today.

Never believed the doomsayers. I know it’s only the first game but had an inkling that we had the players and a change of style would pay dividends. Long may it continue. It’s now 2.25am in Tassie so I'm off to bed.

Night Night!
Couple of glasses of red and I will go to bed too :)

What are you blethering about now? You replied to my post saying, "Chill out mate. Chris isn’t going to shag you". As I said, a totally naff reply, nothing to do with TSB, and what tag - none showing in your post (except this current one to which I'm replying) or mine.
On second thoughts, don't bother; I'm not really interested, and probably won't bother reading it any way.

You really are a miserable bitter ****.

Chris Hughton is the best manager the Albion have ever had but Graham Potter could have the skill to take us to the next level and outdo even CH.

Hey....let's not be too presumptuous - we have won one match!

I am impressed that GP certainly seems grounded and made sensible post match comments!

Yep if he now backs this up in these next two home games then we can really think we’ve stepped it up a level from last season - we’ll know soon enough

You can only win the game that's put in front of you. How many games did we lose when the other team also played badly. Making excuses for a win is worse than making excuses for a loss. If you can't enjoy this without criticism you are supporting the wrong team because Brighton will never be perfect.

And that's why we love Brighton.

Sorry to be that bloke, but I would like to make ONE negative comment.

Murray... I know he offers something different, but it's looking like more of the same from next season.

Not convinced he's good enough anymore. Surely has to be our third choice striker, right?

Agreed. Whilst we already looked great, we looked upstoppable at times with Maupay and Andone on. I'd love our front three going forward to be Trossard - Maupay - Andone.

All I can say is VAR!
What else do you need?
