Always one of the TV highlights of the year on BBC 1 tonight, great to see the often under utilised Alec Scott joining Gary Lineker with the presenting duties. Soon to be Sir Lewis Hamilton  must be a shoe in for the main award but the minor places will be interesting and expect to see plenty of coverage of the BLM movement within sport.

The Rocket.

Doesn't deserve to win it, particularly with some of his off the table antics compared to the statesman like way Hamilton has carried himself this year, but a top 3 is not out of the question.

Sorry, Crodo. You're one of my favourite posters on here but that's absolute rubbish.

He's given snooker fans nearly 30 years of glorious moments and memories, still striving to be the best there is and just as much as when he started as a 16 year-old. He's had to battle bipolar disorder, his dad locked away in prison for nearly 20 years and is always fascinating to listen to in his interviews. Just because he says things the way they are, why should that be a bad thing?

To win six world titles in this era with the likes of Judd Trump, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Kyren Wilson, John Higgins etc is quite incredible. Quite simply, he's the best snooker player there has ever been.

He's so refreshingly honest - if there are problems in the world he will talk about them and for him lockdown came as a relief as he was able to see his kids properly and look after them as he provides the best education for them. Travelling the world he doesnt always get the time to devote to them. He has got more personality in his bridge hand than Lewis Hamilton will ever have - all he does is drive the best car, makes faults but still wins Grand Prix's.

Ronnie is by far the oldest contender and his longevity in the sport has to be admired. I don't ever recall him dodging tax or cheating on his wife or girlfriend? There will never be another character in sport that makes headlines mostly for his snooker but also he asks "where are all the players in their twenties?" Fair point. Too busy on their iphones, Tablets or Zoom to dedicate their life to snooker.

Rocket Ronnie is a sporting legend. He should win.

They did give Fury a nice tribute despite him snubbing them. Respect for that. O'sullivan would be my pick most years, but Hamilton has to be the man this year.

And very enlightening it is too, he is incredibly humble, observant and respectful. Thoroughly enjoyable programme.
