They could both be related.

Work permit will probably be a nightmare though.

Could be BIG news. Phosphine is a gas that is only created by life..

... as far as we know. As with everything.

One of the most commonly used arguments against aliens visiting us or living in our solar system is that "it would be technologically impossible" or "life cant exist without X". This argument is obviously based on the belief that human knowledge / science is near flawless and that there's very little chance of anything in the universe being technologically or scientifically more advanced.

However, I always call that bullshit. So even though I think there's life out there somewhere, I'll have to be fair and say it goes both ways: maybe there is a chance this gas can be created without life, we just dont understand how.

That said, very exciting of course. I hope it is cats and women.

Well, it’s 2020 so I’m now fully expecting a Venusian invasion by the end of the week. I’ll go and put the kettle on whilst I wait for the fun to start.

I hear they found it on a mountain top. Burning like a silver flame.

Turns out there's more life on Venus than in our attacking third

There's every chance of life in some sense, but the question of whether it's likely to be intelligent life will probably remain unanswered.

Aliens on Jupiter too?

“Phosphine is a constituent of the Earth's atmosphere at very low and highly variable concentrations........It is also found in Jupiter's turbulent atmosphere where it forms in the planet's hot interior and reacts with other compounds in the upper atmosphere.”Wiki

The club previously used compressed phosphine gas to fill its matchday footballs. One was used when Ulloa took a penalty.

Don't tell me it's a coincidence that phosphine gas is discovered on Venus, and a football takes 6 years 6 months to make the journey to Venus from Falmer...

Yeah, but the temperature and energies involved in Jupiters interior are far greater than that of Venus, so it's feasible that it could be made naturally there. The point with Venus is that they've looked at the environmental condtions and there just isn't enough oompf there to produce it.
