Little bit of rain and distant rumbles in wadhurst earlier, hope round 2 is a bit better
We were at the Brighton Open Air Theatre yesterday evening and the lightning and rumbling thunder were a great additional effect! (It was Julius Caesar). Unfortunately the pissing rain halfway through Act One (which I hadn't seen forecast on the BBC app) caught us by surprise and we weren't at all prepared. Got absolutely drenched. Fair play to the cast who carried on as if nothing was happening.

There are some lightning returns mid channel currently, from small thunder cells running ahead of the main rain area.
