There has only been one day so far, when it was less than 5 mins, the 4 minute one.
Dire really. Thank god I work in public sector with flexible working. Otherwise given the unreliabilty of the Southern service, I could have been sacked by now.
I have yet to have an on time train on the way to work so far this year.
The best Southern managed was 7 minutes late.
Still it is not all bad. Had 3 delay repay returns in last few days. Just a dozen or so more due to come.
I have got delay repay for 3 out of 4 journeys (an acceptable 20 minute delay home tonight) so far in 2014.
I have got so many delay repays running I have lost track on how much I am due to be refunded.
Southwest trains have similar circumstances and seem more more reliable.
I agree though. There is too much capacity.
Instead of HS2 we could have doubled up lines from Brighton to 3 Bridges, reopening of Lewes Uckfield line and maybe all the tracks lowered to install double decker trains...
This weather is certainly not the fault of the rail companies, but it just adds to the countless other times of poor service across the year that gets me.

Clearly they are not doing something right.
I have never known such an inept organisation as Network Rail.
Do they not maintain signals?
Any of their employees use this site and want to defend their organsation?
