To me it’s obvious they need both. Partey and Xhaka were their only dedicated and effective pivots, but until last season Xhaka was widely lambasted and apparently he heads back to Germany this summer. Whilst Partey was blamed for the last 9 games implosion and may soom be otherwise occupied.

    [Albion] Losing Macalister & Caicedo

Many of this lot think they’ll sign both Rice and Caicedo. https://arsenal-mania.com/forum/threads/moises-caicedo.36101/page-221 But they’re ready to viciously attack Kroenke and Fabrizio Romano if Chelsea sign Caicedo.

I followed that, all the :lolol: ITK's:lolol: and some mainstream media saying Ugarte was a Chelsea player.

Or is that how we managed to get MacA to sign his last contract?

Is Football Insider reliable? Mac A's deal to Liverpool is nearly done at a £60m fee and £150,000 pw wages. [No way do they know the wages].

Interesting, Chelsea. That wouldn’t fit in with two theories: 1. Chelsea will be tied down by FFP for years to come. 2. The new NSC take that Mac A and Caicedo would be very sad to not sign for ManC, Arsenal, Manure or Newcastle.

    [Albion] Losing Macalister & Caicedo

Or the player/agent takes a slightly longer view than that. There are no guarantees that Arsenal or Newcastle will be CL for the entirety of their next contract, whilst Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham may be CL clubs from 2024/25 as they were this year. To follow that argument, only players...

    [Albion] Losing Macalister & Caicedo

I do think Caicedo’s better than Rice. Rice is a great player and talisman in an often poor team. But on kumb their perennial complaining Cockney’s have very often slagged him off after a defeat … although they’ve gone all nostalgic now :D . Whereas is a football monster who that age is only...

He’s a bit of an open book, I love that. Better imho than a manager who arrogantly / boringly never reveals anything of interest to fans, instead churned out cliches.

I’d be interested and delighted if we banked £100m. Has a non attacking centre midfielder ever got anywhere near that? Arsenal went to £70m. It was rejected not because of the valuation, but TB/RDZ wouldn’t allow them to ruin our mid season dreams. To me he’s worth it. The buyer’s getting a...

    [Albion] Losing Macalister & Caicedo

The PL top 4 last year contained Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. They’re not destined to out of the CL after next season where we’ll have 5 clubs in the competition. It’s very likely a one season blip. Liverpool and Chelsea remain a huge attraction to quality players, whilst Tottenham were...

    [Albion] Losing Macalister & Caicedo

ManC - a couple of centre midfielders leaving this summer. Manure - Caicedo’s light years ahead of McTomathug and Casemiro gets injuries/suspensions. Arsenal - Xhaka’s reportedly returning to Germany and Partey was dreadful in many of the bad recent results. They’ll need more than Rice.

Disagree. He’s quietly been highly effective for a very long time, once Potter found that role for him. It only became obvious to the eyes that are fixated in following the ball, when we had other classy midfielders too. The one dip in form to just 7/10’s, a post WC hangover Jan/Feb?
