I can only put one cross on the ballot paper and that is against a party name. So in Labour's case they have 10 candidates standing in my area but I can't choose which one's I can vote for - it's Labour as a whole or not at all.

Not true - in the EU elections you vote for a party not a person. They produce an ordered list of who will be the first MEP if they get enough votes and the more votes they get the further down the list they can go.

That's one hell of a sweeping statement. To counter such a weird post I've been interested in politics ( and involved ) for 25 years or so - especially local politics. I'm an ex-UKIP member ( way back in the mid 90's ) so yes, I do realise that UKIP is older than 2 years.

I'm not sure where the Telegraph got those figures from then as when I went on the EU site this week the UK were sixth worse for turning up. I also found MEPs with less than 40% attendance who weren't UKIP ( one being a Tory ).

I don't think I've ever seen someone so obsessed with a political party as you. For someone so anti-UKIP you certainly pay them a lot of attention ( and give them a lot of attention on here ).
