LUNCH - Sussex 99-2 (29) Goodwin guided the last ball of the session down through the slips for four to move to 5 not out and Yardy is on 35. Harris? A very good source tells me it is a 'registration issue.' The plot thickens. ECB are promising to get back to me later.
It depends how you look at it. It is £13 a day for championship games at Hove and that is essentially for around 6 hours of sport.
Alternatively, membership is fairly good value, as long as you go to enough games.
Not so much that he struggles to bowl 30 overs in a day. More that since his action has been remodelled he has lost pace and swing, so is not at all effective in the longer form of the game.
His bowling seems to now be about the slower ball and yorkers.
The first question, basically it means that there are players all the way down the order capable of getting runs.
You have to pay for each day of the championship games.
It could happen, but doubt it.
Hoppo is not an opener. He is a decent one day player, but definetly not an opener.
Although I am not sure Nash is really an opener. I suspect long term he will take Adams spot at number 5.
Hodd has 2 first class centuries behind him. Nash has not got to 3 figures yet, although he does seem to get into the 60's on a reasonable basis but seems unable to kick on. Hopkinson did get a 100 in a pro 40 game, but his batting just does not seem that great.
So the team will be;
Nash, Hopkinson, Yardy, Goodwin, Adams (capt), Prior (wkt), Wright, Martin-Jenkins, Harris, Aga, Mushtaq
WAT Beer will be on drinks duty.
Mushy at 11 means once you take Hoppo out of the equation, we bat, well in theory, fairly deep.
