If we can cash in and replace him, fine, but I suggest we can't. How about he doesn't want to be here, but we persuade him that we haven't had a good enough offer, so we need him to help us get promoted, and we play him?
I don't agree with the "**** off [player]" or "no one's bigger than the team" philosophy.
He's one of our good players and if we want him to stay, he should stay, and when he gets over his moment (if he's having one) we should get behind him. The only people to lose out if we tell him to ****...
Give him 2 weeks off. He'll be ready to play again in September. We want to get promoted, so we want all our good players. Unless the club have an offer they're happy with, which clearly hasn't happened.
