That's probably straying from the subject somewhat, but I think most scientists these days would say that the maths would support the very probable existence of life on other planets - "intelligent" life as such is a much harder thing, and would not be supported with any great probability at the...
I only had to read one sentence to know that was complete and utter rubbish. My disbelief is nothing to do with sin (whatever that is supposed to mean), it's based on my belief that absolutely nothing in my 48 years is attractive or real about religion, and I just cannot understand why anybody...
I would say it's absolutely accurate - but is not necessarily equivalent to other forms of abuse.
What have those things got to do with science ? If you want to go to that level, everything is made up of atoms and molecules so it therefore science.
I would like to say the sooner the better .... unfortunately the basic psychology of the human is to bond to others through whatever you have in common. The upshot of this is by forming any group, whether it be by colour, race, religion, hair-colour, football team, the process of inclusion...
I would refer you back to Dara O'Briains act where he says "ancient herbal medecines were all tested and the ones that worked are what we call 'medicine', the rest are basically water". Made in jest, no dobut, but still pretty accurate.
I have absolutely no idea what you mean by that. Are you blaming science for wars, influenza epidemics, the black death ? Apart from a test tube blowing up in your face, how can science kill anyone exactly ?
I like what Dara O'Briain says, to paraphrase ....
"Science doesn't know everything .... science knows it doesn't know everything otherwise it would stop. Just because science doesn't know everything doesn't mean you can fill in the gaps with whatever rubbish you choose to."
