I must admit, I did have a chuckle when this Nigel compared Freedman's half a season with Gus's accomplishments. Lets see where Palace are in a year's time under Freedman before he does that. I'm guessing they'll be relegation fodder once again with Zaha probably Wigan's latest £3m recruit.
My suspicion is that it was done because the second thread was started by one of the kiddie upstarts rather than a long standing contributor. Too bad the kiddie saw glory in his eyes and thought it a good idea to start a thread with his name under it, but also too bad that the mods didn't see...
I agree with every word of this, but aren't people simply arguing different points here?
Of course losing Murray makes Gus' job more difficult, but if he thinks he can get more value from another player I don't see the problem.
You're kidding yourself. He's quality.
Hopefully he'll be injured most of the season with Palace and they'll get relegated with a(nother) player on a ridiculous OTT salary.
Funnily enough, no I don't. I think this is because Calde had only really played a handful of games for us when that Southampton offer came along. Murray on the other hand, cost £300k, and he's been OK but not pulled up any trees until this season, just as his contract is about to expire. I...
I'd like to think you spoke for me, but if he's in an Albion shirt next season, I won't be able to think of him in any other way than the way I thought of Micky Adams when he re-joined the club - only here because he couldn't get a better deal anywhere else, and ready to jump ship at the first...
Not really. We have (at most) two or three threads on the fact that our best striker *might* move to our arch rivals. Compared to our embarrassing obsession with the SCC over the season, this is positively restrained.
Do you suggest not talking about it at all then?
