we have been playing attractive passing football and we have had the majority of possession in most matches. Yet we have won only 2 matches in our last 15 EPL games. If Potter, Ashworth, and the players could only work out how to put teams away when they are on the ropes the world is our...
We've only won 6 league games all season and 4 were in the first 5 matches.
I like the football and i like our league position but we've had 3 seasons to work out how to turn huge amounts of possession against bottom half teams into wins and we still can't do it.
Let me bring this back to reality. Yet again we have dominated a match and failed to win. This happens with monotonous regularity against teams in the bottom half of the table, 3 seasons now. Disappointing, to say the least. If you're happy at failing to beat Newcastle, Norwich, Palace...
So that's around 8 matches this season where we have dominated but failed to win (I'm only counting the average and shit teams, not the ones above us in the table).
Yes, sorry, I'm feeling and sounding negative this evening because, yet again, we have had 65 to 70% possession, numerous attempts at goal and failed to win. That's probably the 7th or 8th time this season and the 20th time in the last 3 seasons. It's our longstanding achilles heel.
The coach and team are unable to beat teams that set up defensively. I wouldn't expect us to beat all of them but 4 out of 8 would be reasonable, wouldn't it? At least 1 out of 8 would be an improvement. I mean, if we can only beat teams who attack us then give up the possession football and...
I was watching on Sky and yet again I saw us dominating the game from start to finish and failing to win. At least we didn't lose this time. It's way past time the coach and players worked out how to convert possession into points.
