This is going to be a borderline 'event', in that we need the front to stall to our north to give the cold air time to undercut it... then we might get snow.
Either way - unless it's very heavy and temps fall below freezing it probably won't settle (due to the rain beforehand).
I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get some more later... the area over south Wales looks like it's on its way to you.
Some very heavy stuff coming off the channel into West sussex at present, which is forecast to spread to East Sussex later...
As I posted on the other thread.. it would appear that the air is particuarly unstable along the coast at the moment, with precipitation forming over East sussex... I'd hazard a guess that moisture is being drawn into the area off the sea, which is causing the snow to pep up.. as it did one...
The Met Office radar is showing 2 things:
1. A band of snow forming over East Sussex and moving West
2. the more organised snow moving off the French coast.

One last picture... the midnight radar image, zoomed in to show the sleepy hamlet of Southwick... about to get snowed on.
Night night all.. sleep tight. :yahoo:
I've got to go to sleep now.. work in the morning.
Let me leave you with the 11:45 radar image... the skies up-wind from us are filling in, and the showers appear to be intensifying.
the arrow gives the approximate direction of travel...
The streamers are on their way!
There's too much uncertainty to say beyond about Thursday...
There's a Sudden Stratospheric Warming event going on at the moment, which some experts link to high latitude blocking (High Pressure near the poles), which has the potential to give us a cold spell which will be more severe than...
Au contrare... You've got a longer period when you can get snow... look here:

Well, from the latest raw model output... for Manchester, which is the nearest locality the publish easy to get hold of ensemble forecasts for:

It looks like close to zero for the whole week.
To explain, the lines are all different forecast...
you'll get the low moving north tomorrow evening... you're far enough west to avoid the warm sector and higher temps that might affect the eastern areas.
If you look here, the next snow is coming down through sussex from the North

It's getting heavier out.. so maybe as Durrington is a little further north than West Worthing, we're getting the southern edge of the latest 'streamer'.
